Orphaned Land-Mabool (one of my favorite albums of all time)

LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM. Seriously. It is one of my favorites of all time. Orphaned Land is an Israeli band (although this is a coincidence and not how I found them) and would probably be best considered in the genre of progressive heavy metal. However, I guarantee you that you have never heard another band like this one. Sure, it is metal, and some of the songs incorporate that lovely growel that most main-stream music loving individuals tend to despise, but don't worry! There is beautiful clean singing as well, and you should get past the fucking groweling anyways because the music on this album is brilliant. If you can't, tough shit I guess.

Orphaned Land fuses the elements and instruments of middle eastern music (listen to Ocean Land for example) with metal in an almost immaculate fashion. Some songs are sung with parts in English, Hebrew, and even Arabic. This album, Mabool, is a concept album about three brothers (well actually angels) who very blatently represent Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. It is a really interesting story, and if you're more curious, here is the synopsis from wikipedia.

Bottom line, this album is awesome and I can't even count how many times I've listened to it. I notice more things each time and have never gotten bored. ADD, since you showed me this album I doubt you'll download this, but everyone else with an open mind, do it. And if you like it, buy some of their stuff or a shirt or something, because they damn well deserve it.
