Radiohead Remixes by Amp_Live of Zion I ft. Del, Too $hort, etc

Maybe you guys already knew about this mixtape, but I just found out about it yesterday. And as I usually tend to say about the stuff I post, it is fucking awesome. This is not Jaydiohead, but is kind of similar in the sense that Amp_Live essentially remixes Radiohead songs into beats. Beautiful beats at that, but no Jay-Z here. Plus, this particular album is purely songs from In Rainbows, and the verses are original rather than mashups.

You can read more about this here. The album was posted on that website for free, but I couldn't get it to download, so I'll put another link down bellow. Seriously check this shit out though, it is awesome and I highly doubt you won't like it.

Awesome Flamenco Acoustic Fury

I have no idea how famous this duo is. However, I do know that they can fucking shred. Heard a song on the radio tonight on the way back from a friends randomly, and found myself immediately drawn to the fast paced rhythms and highly skilled technical guitar techniques. Once I got home, I knew I had to figure out who they were and download an album (yes mostly for you ADD). They remind a lot of the less popular duo Seis Cuerdas, which if you look back at my early posts you will find. Turns out upon further research that they too started out as heavy metal thrash musicians who felt limited by the scene and went back to their roots. Fucking awesome roots too. I know I will be listening to this album 11:11 constantly.

I can almost guarantee beyond a shadow of a doubt that you will dig this album. So download it. Or buy it. Or something.

New Mason Jennings

I fucking love Mason Jennings. And you do too. So download this shit. It's a little different and more electric than some of his other stuff, but I can dig it. I love that he's getting relatively popular now, because this guy is a baller.

LEGIT Independent Hip-Hop: Blackalicious with Lyrics Born with DJ Shadow with Jurassic 5 plus many more.

This is a fucking great album. If you consider yourself a fan in any way shape or form of the genre of hip-hop please immediately cop this album. You'll find distinct lyrical style, clever and intelligent rhymes, sick/funky/fresh/original beats, and just an overall enjoyable listening experience. Actually though, if you, the aforementioned generic fan of hip-hop, have an unexplainable infatuation with that modern shitty autotune infused radio friendly horseshit that is attempting to robotize the music industry, then I take back my second sentence. In fact, please kindly guide your mouse arrow to the little X in the top right corner and go watch TRL or some similar bullshit. Unless you're down to expand your horizons and try listening to something different--then isn't necessarily too late for you...and I guess I apologize.

Anywhooo, this album is a collaboration of all of the artists on the independent Bay Area based record label Quannum Projects. Formed at UC Davis, Quannum Projects includes several of my favorite hip-hop artists who I'll hopefully guide you in discovering more thoroughly in future posts. Here you'll find Blackalicious, Lyrics Born (and his wife Joyo Velarde), Lateef, Pigeon John, DJ Shadow, and many others including a guest appearance by Jurassic 5 spitting on this record. Seriously check it out, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

New Matisyahu Album-Light

No review for this yet, just figured some people would want this. Hopefully I'll dig it because I love his other stuff.
