One Man Revolution

For some reason I've been a really folky mood recently...hence the last two posts as well as this one. But this Nightwatchman album is a little different. As the the title of the album suggests, this album is Tom Morello (the incredibly unique and innovative guitarist of Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave)'s one man revolution.

I'm not sure exactly what inspired him to take this drastic departure from the heavy metal/hard rock scene into folk--but the result is this politically charged Bob Dylan-esque album. I read somewhere that Tom Morello describes his pseudonym Nightwatchman as a black 21st century Robin Hood. You'll find nylon string acoustic guitars, songs about freedom, and straightforward political activism on this record. If you are a fan of Rage Against the Machine or socially conscious music, while you might not listen to this album over an over again for the rest of your life (like The Battle of Los Angeles), you still might find it interesting.

But who will watch the Nightwatchman? (get it?)
