Seeing as I'm getting really sick of trying to catch up on a quarter of macroeconomics, I thought I'd post one of my favorite albums of all time. If you don't know what the "Blaze is the Messiah" bit is all about, don't worry about it.Of the 3 singers in Iron Maiden's history, Blaze Bayley is easily the most underrated. Everyone loves the early almost punky years with Dianno, Bruce helped bring the band to domination with his gifted voice and prowess as a frontman, and then there was Blaze for two albums before Bruce came back. Sure, his voice isn't as pretty and he may not represent the "glory years" of Maiden, but who gives a shit? He's got some fucking bells, and Virtual XI/The X-Factor are excellent albums in their own regard. Listen to "Sign of the Cross" "Lord of the Flies" or "The Clansman" if you don't believe me (but you probably won't). I will admit that "The Angel and the Gamblers" is cheesy and ridiculous, but I've come to cherish that one as well.
Anyways, Blaze was awesome, even though some talk shit on him. Obviously though he split from the band before Bruce could come back (although I fucking wish I could have seen these years in concert, I've heard some recordings of his pissed off rants and they are hilarious). This is one of his solo albums, and it is one of my favorites of all time. I can remember listening to this shit on my old CD player that I covered in sharpied band logos on long car-rides with the family back in the day. Damn, I thought I was cool.
This one is far heavier than what you might be used to with Maiden, but give this shit a listen, Blaze really finds his true sound through this medium.
